The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. I certainly do and publishers as well, especially on Twitter. I love it if I get a reply or a retweet, it’s very exciting and makes it all worthwhile! In fact it’s so exciting I sometimes take a screenshot on my phone. 😂 Here are some of my favourites:

I don’t follow many but do tag them on posts for books they authored. Generally, I’ll follow those on Twitter that follow me. Much prefer their newsletters.

I have a separate list on twitter for authors and publisher’s versus readers, I’m generally more interested in readers tweets, but occasionally there are authors who share interesting threads, like currently Hanif Kureishi, in a bittersweet reality – he was hospitalised after a fall in Rome in Jan 6, and is semi paralyzed – is sharing short threads of stories from his hospital bed, with the aid of his wife.
I’m less interested in an author reading my reviews, thinking they might do it so is awkward, given the honesty I strive for. I did have the author Maud Newton, author of Ancestor Trouble leave a comment on my blog recently and I was slightly alarmed when I saw it initially. I think of authors as being overly sensitive whereas publishers are a pretty hardy breed. I write for readers first and tell myself that’s all who see what I write. 🤔🤣😘

Now, I feel like I’ve missed out on remembrances by not taking screen shots of my interactions. It’s both disconcerting and exhilarating when an author gives you a shout out, isn’t it? Excellent post, Nicki! Love the exchanges 😊

Definitely Nicki. I follow my favourite authors and publishers on Twitter and Instagram. If they have a blog, I follow that as well. I’m genuinely delighted when sometimes they follow me back.

I also love it when I get reply to tweet from author or publisher. It makes the day worthwhile to all efforts we put in writing review.

I use Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Instagram is my #1 spot where I connect with my favorite authors, I like to find out what they are coming out with next and chatting about the books they have already published.

I do follow a few on Twitter and Facebook, but not a lot. I get a lot of my author information from blogs.
