My Review

This was brilliant, even better than book two if that’s possible?! It was so good to be back in the company of Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron, my favourite 80 year olds, apart from family members, of course! I took my time reading this one as I really didn’t want it to end, especially as I got closer to the big reveal and ultimately the end.

The gang were back looking at cold cases again, and this one involved the mysterious death and disappearance of a local TV news presenter, Bethany Waites. Joyce was particularly keen to look into it so she could meet Mike Waghorn a local TV personality, who also happened to work with Bethany. Bethany was hopping to uncover a big new story when she disappeared, and the police could never work out what had happened to her. This was a perfect case for the gang to get involved in, and get involved they certainly did! Meanwhile Elizabeth was getting some annoying anonymous texts, which brought about another very interesting situation for her!

This was a delight from start to finish. Once again there was loads of laugh out loud moments, and  wonderful descriptions for minor characters and their idiosyncrasies. It was a very satisfying mystery that I didn’t work out, in fact I was on totally the wrong track all the way through. Some of the minor characters were excellent, and I really hope they’ll make an appearance in the next book.

I highly recommend this one and cannot wait to reread it, and will definitely be pre-ordering Book 4!
