I rarely reread. I think the last reread was Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society so that I could refresh my memory before I saw the movie!

I liked the film, but I couldn’t get into the book at all!

My fav quote is from that book! “reading good books ruins you for enjoying bad ones”

Love that but didn’t realise where it came from!

In my case, there are two kinds of rereading. The first category is when I was fast reading a book to find out about the plot and then decided to reread it because of the quality of the writing, world building, and character designs. The second category consists of books that feature in my small library that only consists of nonfiction and books that belong to the top 100 of the world literature. Those I reread to get inspiration for my own artistic activity.

Rather than rereading a book, I am finding that I am listening to the audio version of books I have read in the past. Although there are some books that I imagine I will still reread in the future.

Yes that’s what I’ve done with the Narnia books, I love them on audio!

great post! I re-read when reading slumps hit mostly to try and snap me out of it, but I’d love to re-read more… but those pesky other new books keep getting in the way!!

I used to reread much easier when I was younger and life didn’t get in the way. But I do have a few favorites that I easily reread yes and A Christmas Carol is one of them for sure.
Have a good weekend!

I have lots of’ books I want to re-read at some point (the 5 star ones that I keep for that reason) but that’ll have to wait till I’m retired. The last novel I reread was Deity because I wanted to write a review but I postponed it so long that I had to. I did love the novel so that was quite ok 🙂

That’s a good idea to reread for a review Inge .I must remember that!

It’s rare for me to reread with so many books on my TBR but one series stands out and it’s In Death by J. D. Robb. These were some of the first books I read when I returned to the mystery/romance about twelve years ago after a really long hiatus. I read the entire series three times when there were about 35 books. Now, I’m rereading via audio the Troubleshooters series by Suzanne Brockmann as part of a group read. It was the series I read immediately after the third go around with In Death. It lead to my discovery of Shelfari and then Goodreads. I’m loving it and it makes such a difference on audio.
I doubt that I’d be rereading outside of group reads, however. My TBR is outrageous.

I’m the same way. Most of the books I read each year are new-to-me books, and I try to reread at least something. About 33% of the books I read each year are rereads. Here’s my post.

I have never re-read a book. 🙂
Do you pick up things you missed when you re-read?

Yes definitely, it’s one of the things I love about rereading.

Having more than 3000 books on my Goodreads TBR list, I very seldom reread a book on purpose. I have reread a book by accident. It was a new cover and by the time I realized I had read it before, I skim read it as I sometimes forget the story. Of course I also reread children’s books over and over to my grandkids. Yes, I also read or listen to The Christmas Carol every year, but that is a tradition for me.

Wow 3000 books on your tbr Carla, I totally understand why you don’t want to reread!

I will never read them all, but I will always have something to choose from.

I rarely reread, but only because I have so many other books I want to read as well… I love rereading favorites though and especially if it’s been a while since I last read it like our buddy read of What The Wind Knows.

Our buddy reread was great! Perhaps we should reread The Willow Woman just before we read get the next book, Just to remind ourselves of the characters! 😂 xx

Haha that would probably be a good idea… I don’t think I remember much of the characters anymore.

I rarely ever re-read books. When I do it would be a title that really made an impact on me. Here are a few titles that I would re-read: “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Bronte; “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman; “The Mirror” by Marlys Millhiser; “The Auctioneer” by Joan Samson; “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owen; “The Secrets of Strangers” by Charity Norman.

I don’t reread very often! I get the urge to sometimes, but then I look at my TBR pile and decide against it. The exception is my comfort books, which are usually middle grade chapter books that I loved as a kid.
