Interesting as I know you love audiobooks. 😀

I do but I’m always already doing something else while listening 😂 Reading and listening to audiobooks feel like two completely different activities and combining them would just be weird for me.

I choose one format, mostly because it seems silly to pay more than I have to to get the same, if that makes sense. If it were free, I don’t know, maybe I’d try it but then I’d have to adjust my reading to the narrator and not go slower or quicker, I don’t know how that would go..

When I buy kindle and audible bundles which are sometimes much cheaper than an audible credit, you can flick between the audio and the kindle book which is great fun. It keeps up with both books if you bookmark your place, it’s really clever.

Also never. When I listened to Richard Armitage narrate David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, I would sometimes pause the audiobook and pick up the book to read a certain passage because holy cow run-on-sentences! But normally, in the very few instances I listen to an audiobook, no. I can’t even quite see how that works as I read a lot faster than the pace of the audiobook.

You do know you can adjust the speed of audiobooks? 😂 Audible has no fixed speeds, but Scribd does and I listen to almost everything at x1.5.

I sometimes speed up, if the narrator sounds too slow to me, but most of the time it’s just at 1, sounds too fast otherwise.

I’m used to it, I don’t even notice anything off about it, but whenever J hears it, he’s all how the hell can you listen to that 😂

I once listened to an audiobook with a huge difference in story speed and dialogue speed. So when the story was comfortable for me to listen to, the dialogue sounded like two chipmunks 😂

I couldn’t get on with Richard Armitage’s narration. I’ve tried a couple of books with him but I just don’t like his voice. I think it’s too deep for me! 😂

I don’t listen audiobooks anymore but I like the idea of readlong and at the same time if audio is really amazing I wouldn’t stop to check the words or to highlight them.

The best of both worlds Yesha!

Nope!! I think it would annoy me having someone reading out loud to me what I’m reading haha!

I get that 😂

I can’t do both, especially if I’m loving the narrators. I’ve used the eBook to go back and reread certain sections after a twisty ending. But that’s about it.

I totally get that if the narrators are good Jo!

I’ve never tried this but whenever you mention doing it, I become very curious about trying it too! 😛

My answer is exactly the same as yours Nicki. I enjoy a good read/listen. Although if the narration is amazing, then I won’t read along as I don’t want to spoil the magic.

Totally agree Carla I don’t want to spoil the magic either!

I actually have done it a few times. It’s one of the only ways I can get through the audio version.
