I’ve never heard of The Day of the Triffids, but now I’m very curious. Happy reading!
Really? Iit was first published in 1951 so it’s very dated but really interesting!
Looking forward to seeing your reviews, Nicki💜
Yes I need to knuckle down and do them!
Happy Shrug Day! Autumn looks like a lovely read! xx
It’s really lovely and I’m taking it slowly so I can enjoy it more! xx
You have a nice mix of books! I read and loved Daughter a while ago. I like the look of the memoir.
Here’s MY WWW POST
The memoir was fabulous, so positive and very funny!
Autumn sounds like a lovely read, I hope you’re enjoying it 🙂 x
Thanks I am enjoying it! x
Happy shrug day, Nicki! Looks like another good reading week! 🙂
Thanks Jo! 😀
The Day of the Triffids is terrific – I don’t read much sci fi at all but I remember loving this one. The film version was a hoot – I bet the special effects look dreadful now though
It’s read by Alex Jennings so it’s good!
He’s a wonderful actor with a voice just made for audio
He certainly is!
Nicki,
The Autumn anthology sounds really cozy. I’ll have to add it to my TBR.
I hope you’ve been having a good week!
I need to read more sci-fi. It’s a genre I often overlook!
I don’t read it often either.
I was sort of put off by it until I thought that time travel would count and so I set about looking for books about that. I found one but it was a bit much for me in terms of most of the characters dying, so I am not sure if I will continue with that series!
I love time travel books! I’ve read some good ones that are more historical fiction than sci-fi.
Interesting. Sometimes the genres do blur. I just hear the word science in reading and I shut down. I have an A Level in Biology and am really interested in science – just as long as it’s not in a novel 😂🤣
Fair enough! 😂
