The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.
The question this week is:
Where do you get background images for your posts, or do you create them yourself?
Good question! I used to use Pexels, but now I use Canva a fantastic website full of templates and photographs, that I think most bloggers use. It’s fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it. I only use the free version because I don’t use it that often, although I must admit sometimes I wish I had a paid subscription when I’m looking for new images. I also mostly use Goodreads for book covers although sometimes I use amazon and audible.
So what about you, how do you source your background images?
I think if I had more of an eye for design I might persevere, I do enjoy looking for the right image and the right word that will elicit it in the search!
I only use Goodreads for the covers or other materials provided by the author and/or publisher. When I do use other images for illustration within the body of a post, I just use free use materials from the internet. I don’t have the talent to do much more.
I get cover pics from Amazon and use photoGrid for backgrounds and collages and Canva for photos and to create the final blog image. The nice thing about Canva is that it saves your designs and you can use a previous one as a template which saves time.
My blog background is one I created in Photoshop Elements. The other graphics I use are often culled from FAVPNG. com and then I tweak them or edit them in Photoshop. I also use images from the Internet if there is no apparent copyright.
I was introduced to Pixabay when I was doing a blog for work (before I started my own blog), there are some great free pics on there and you can change them to suit your purposes.
What you said- I’m same!

Mostly pexels or images I take myself. I did use canva for a while, to create more complex images, but it takes more time than I’m willing to spend.

It can take quite a while depending what you’re doing.

I broke down and subscribed to Canva over a year ago because I use it so extensively. I love how easy it is to use ❤️

I definitely think about subscribing if I used it more as there’s so much there!

I use Canva to create collages of book covers. If I want more generic pictures I use Unsplash and Pixabay
