From Goodreads:”Owen Pick’s life is falling apart.
In his thirties, a virgin, and living in his aunt’s spare bedroom, he has just been suspended from his job as a geography teacher after accusations of sexual misconduct, which he strongly denies. Searching for professional advice online, he is inadvertently sucked into the dark world of incel—involuntary celibate—forums, where he meets the charismatic, mysterious, and sinister Bryn.
Across the street from Owen lives the Fours family, headed by mom Cate, a physiotherapist, and dad Roan, a child psychologist. But the Fours family have a bad feeling about their neighbour Owen. He’s a bit creepy and their teenaged daughter swears he followed her home from the train station one night.
Meanwhile, young Saffyre Maddox spent three years as a patient of Roan Fours. Feeling abandoned when their therapy ends, she searches for other ways to maintain her connection with him, following him in the shadows and learning more than she wanted to know about Roan and his family. Then, on Valentine’s night, Saffyre Maddox disappears—and the last person to see her alive is Owen Pick.”

My Review
I loved this book, the characters, the plot the setting.
I really liked Saffyre the girl who goes missing, and Cate the neighbour of Owen Pick. I wasn’t too sure about Owen as he was such an odd guy. Mostly I felt sorry for him, but he didn’t really help himself.
As usual Lisa Jewell has created a wonderful community of real life characters, some I liked, some that made my flesh creep and some I really wasn’t too sure about. I loved all the twists and turns this story took me on, and was convinced I knew what was going on. I guessed bits of it, but definitely not the ending. In fact, as the big reveal came along I still hadn’t fully caught on to what had really happened and I was astounded that I never guessed!!
I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys domestic dramas and thrillers, and can’t wait to see what Lisa Jewell comes up with next!
This is my first book for the 2021 Library Love and Mood Reading Challenges

Saffyre was my favorite character. She’s gone through so much for someone so young, but she still keeps going. I love that resilience.

Glad you loved this one Nicki. I wondered about Owen Pick as well, he really made things worse for himself. Wonderful review.
