From Goodreads: “EVERYONE’S INVITED. EVERYONE’S A SUSPECT.
Bristling with tension, bitter rivalries, and toxic friendships, get ready for the most hotly-anticipated thriller of 2019. In a remote hunting lodge, deep in the Scottish wilderness, old friends gather for New Year.
The beautiful one
The golden couple
The volatile one
The new parents
The quiet one
The city boy
The outsider
The victim.
Not an accident – a murder among friends.“
My Review
I really enjoyed this thriller set in Scotland around New Years Eve.
I took part in a fab readalong on Instagram over the course of a week organised by the Tandem Collective and Harper Fiction. There were notes left in the book that prompted us to discuss in our stories and posts, a really clever way to get some buzz around a book. We were allotted a character from the book which made the reading even more interesting, especially as I really didn’t like my character.
All the characters had something to hide and most of them weren’t nice people at all. There were some very clever twists and turns throughout and of course lots of red herrings in true Agatha Christie style.
I had my suspicions about who the victim was, but of course kept changing my mind, and the same went for the murderer as well.
With some crime books I desperately try to work out who did what and where, but with this one I just wanted to enjoy the wild ride, and wild it certainly was!
I definitely recommend this one to thriller lovers especially ones set in remote locations.
I enjoyed following your read along on Instagram! Great review x

Great review! I’m seeing this book all over social media. To be honest, I really hate the cover, which is enough to put me off.

Yes it’s been all over place. The cover’s not the best, but don’t let it put you off.

Can I check if it has animal cruelty/deaths in it? Because that will stop me reading it.

It does have one incident of a stag being shot, so perhaps it’s not for you.
