Top Ten Tuesday โ€“ My Favourite Audiobook Narrators

top ten tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic โ€“ putting your unique spin on it if you want.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that dayโ€™s post so that everyone can check out other bloggersโ€™ lists.
  • Or if you donโ€™t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This weekโ€™s topic is an audio freebie so I’ve chosen to share my favourite audiobook narrators with You. I’ve also included some of my favourite books that they’ve read in case you want to check them out yourself.

Imogen Church is a fairly ‘new to me’ narrator, but one that I rush to listen to whenever I have the chance.

Julie Teal narrates 3 of my favourite series, The Charton Minster, Maisie Dobbs and the Clara Vine series all historical fiction

Martin Jarvis is a famous British actor who’s been reading audiobooks for years and is particularly well know for his ‘Just William’ recitals.

Tavia Gilbert has narrated so many books and these are three that I really enjoyed.

Rachel McAdams performed this audiobook and it made me fall in love with Anne Shirley

Penelope Rawlins made me laugh out loud so many times whilst I listened to book these books

Jack Hawkins has got the most wonderful voice that I’m sure I’d be spellbound if he read my my shopping list

Tom Baker is wonderful reading A Christmas Carol

Finty Williams really brought this audiobook to life for me, that I can’t imagine anyone else narrating it.

Colin Mace is a new narrator for me, and a brilliant one for reading books with tough guys as the main character

What did you choose for your audio freebie this week?

  1. I just started listening to Audio Books. Iโ€™m listening to the Audio of โ€œOn The Come Upโ€ and itโ€™s great

  2. Finty Williams did an excellent narration of How To Be Brave by Louise Beech. I have the Kindle ebook and added the narration and was planning on switching between the two but I loved Finty so much I just kept listening ๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. I’m just casually creeping on everyone’s picks/suggestions this week for audiobooks and narrators. You listed some really interesting ones I’m going to have to check into! Thanks for sharing.

      1. He reads most Lee Child and Michael Connelly books. I love him! Lol quite like the woman who reads Sweetpea by CJ Skuse but I canโ€™t for the life of me remember her name ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ x
