#BookReview – Eat Less by Jeremy and Georgina Jackson-Sytner #EatLess @UrbaneBooks #Lovebooksgrouptours

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Eat Less by Jeremy & Georgina Jackson-Sytner. Thanks so much to Kelly Lacey at Love Books for my paperback copy. Before I share my review here’s what the book is all about:

Eat Less is a revolutionary book designed to help people lose weight and maintain a healthy weight for life. Eat Less is NOT a diet book. It doesn’t read like a diet book or look like a diet book. Eat Less is an anti-obesity manifesto. Eat Less is stuffed with bite-sized nuggets of information on the benefits of eating less, advice on what to eat less of, and much more. Informative and motivational, the underlying message is very serious, but the manner in which it delivers those messages is never preachy and easily digestible. Eat Less offers practical advice on the life-changing benefits that simply eating less food can bring.

Eat Less is published by Urbane Books on the 10th January and you can Pre-order your copy here

My Review

This is a fab little book full of fascinating facts and figures all about food and how we eat.

Did you realise that plate sizes have increased making us eat more that we used to? Or that wineglasses are so much bigger than in the past? No, neither did I! I also didn’t realise that the average Briton eats 238 teaspoons of sugar a week!!

I know I’m a comfort eater, always reaching for the chocolate when I’m feeling down, disappointed or frustrated. I’ve noticed my clothes getting tighter and tighter over the past year and I definitely don’t want to go up a size. I also want to stop snacking on sugary food, particularly after reading that fact mentioned above! Like most women I’ve dabbled in diets over the years, but of course nothing really works for long. Eat Less reiterates this and provides helpful suggestions throughout like ‘don’t reward yourself with food, you’re not a dog’. Makes you think, doesn’t it?

This book is definitely going to be staying in a prominent place in my home, for the encouragement I need when I’m tempted to eat unhealthily.

About the Authors

Following a long career as an advertising creative, Jeremy has turned a lifelong fascination with food, diets and eating into a personal mission. Eat Less is Jeremy’s and wife Georgina’s impassioned attempt to get people everywhere to think more about what they eat and how they eat. The inspiration for this book came soon after he lost 2 stone in weight, simply by eating less and removing sugar and grain from his diet. Georgina is a certified group fitness instructor and runs regular mobile exercise classes in Battersea Park. Alongside this, she has developed a formula to help individuals lose weight, using a tailored weight loss management service and offering customised eating plans.
