Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic ‘The Longest Books I’ve Ever Read’ is an interesting one as I tend to avoid big books as they intimidate me. It was fun to looks at my stats on Goodreads to see what my longest books where for the last ten years and it was very exciting to discover that I’ve read a few books over 500 pages long!! If you hover over each book cover the number of pages should appear.

I liked the couple of novels by Curtis Sittenfeld I’ve read in the past but hadn’t seen that one! Is it any good?
I was really disappointed with it and should’ve dnfed early on but wanted to find out what happened.
Oh that’s a shame. I liked her writing in Prep and American Wife. But there’s nothing worse than a really long book you’re struggling to finish.
I haven’t read anything by her as it really put me off.
I can understand!
I loved Seven Husbands, Labyrinth is on my shelves for many years now. Couldn’t get to it. Did you like it?
Yes but I loved Citadel the final book in the trilogy the best.
Ohh even better, I have them all in my library 😀
I read Kate Mosse trilogy pre blogging days. I have her new one but I reckon it’ll be a Christmas read or a v quiet blogging week!!
Yes same here. I’m going to get her latest on audio maybe with this month’s credit.
You’ll get to it before me then!! Enjoy Nicki. X
I read the Stephen King one and The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle but the longest book I’ve ever read is one of the Song of Fire and Ice series (game of thrones) which went way over a 1000 pages.
That’s just too long! Did you enjoy it?
I did. It’s a brilliant series. Although I doubt I’ll ever read the remaining two (if he ever finishes them) because the tv show has spoiled it all.
That’s a shame.
I tend to avoid long books xD
😀 So do I!
Are we lazy? 😂
No just too many shorter books and not enough time! 😂
😂 I prefer your version!
11/22/63 is AMAZING.
THE chosen cover looks perfect for winter! 💖📚
The Chosen was very good I think you’d enjoy it. I was so disappointed with 11/22/63 😦
Long books sometimes intimidate me, but I do like to tackle them now and then. King books always seem long. The Kate Morton Clockmaker’s Daughter was another lengthy read for me!
You’re braver than me! 😀
I loved 11.22.63, I read it on kindle so didn’t realise it was quite as long as it is! I think the longest book I’ve ever read was probably Gone With the Wind, which I read as a teen and got completely engrossed one summer holiday. I want to re-read it but these days I get so intimidated by longer books. So many books, so little time…
Isn’t it funny how big books are so intimidating?
11/22/63 made my list this week too, and I read a hardback version of it (it was a Christmas book exchange gift from my book club) and it was so hard to hold to read. My list this week was rather Stephen King heavy though.
Hope you have a wonderful week. – Katie
I read the hardback too a library copy and didn’t realise how large it was!
I haven’t read any of these! I’ll have to look them up. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I’d love to read your post but you didn’t leave a link!
I have read a couple of these Seven Deaths and also Labyrinth, both really good books xx
Yay! xx
I haven’t read any of these. I do recognise them as quite long books though!
Thank goodness for that! 😀
That is a whole lot of pages Nicki! I recently read We That Are Young by Preti Taneja and at over 800 pages it took me pretty much all summer 🤣
Wow that’s huge!
Yep!!
I don’t read too many books over 500 pages either… Good to see Evelyn Hardcastle on here!
Couldn’t leave it out!
I recognized a few of these. You’ve read some long books!! 😳
I know!
11/22/63 is one of my favorite King books! 🙂
Check out The Nightmare Before Christmas Book Tag
It’s the only one I’ve read. Thanks for letting me know about the book tag!
I haven’t read any of these yet, but Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is on my TBR.
