It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at BookDate. It’s a weekly post sharing what you’ve recently finished reading, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan to read this week. don’t forget to link up on BookDate’s blog and check out what everyone’s been reading.
What I read recently:
I took part in my first #24in48 Readathon this weekend, which was a challenge but great fun. I only found out about it the day before it started so wasn’t aiming for reading for the full 24 hours. I managed to read Rachel Joyce’s A Snow Garden & Other Stories and almost finished A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.
Earlier in the week I did a buddy read with Zuky@Bookbum of Friend Request by Laura Marshall, You can see my review here.
I DNf’d on The Stars Are Fire by Anita Shreve as I didn’t enjoy the style of writing and really couldn’t get into it.
What I’m currently reading:
A psychological thriller on kindle and historical fiction in paperback from Reader’s First.

Up next:
I’ll definitely be reading something from my #20 Books of Summer list and continue to make a dent in my NetGalley backlog.

I’ve heard good things about A Man Called Ove.. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts. I had a DNF of Anita Shreve myself in the past (Testimony).. the story couldn’t hold my attention…I hope you enjoy your next reads this week!

Thanks 🙂 I finished A Man Called Ove this morning and it was good. I’ll be doing some mini reviews during the week. This was my first Anita Shreve and I only really chose it because the cover grabbed me! lol

I seem to always miss readathons. They sound like fun. I haven’t ever read Shreve though I’ve seen her books around. Come see my week here. Have a great week!

I like the look of The Little Paris Bookshop – you did well to participate, the readathon’s always seem to come around when I’m busy 😦

Oh I do hope you enjoyed A Man Called Ove! It’s one of my all time favorites and I love his grumpy ass. 😉 I saw the readathon mentioned but it was literally the worst time to participate so I passed… Good to hear it worked for you!

I really enjoyed Ove it was very funny and very sad at times. There’s another readathon at the end of January which I’m already thinking of signing up for. 😊

I’ve decided to give the new Anita Shreve book a pass for now because I’m not in the mood for it. I have enjoyed her books in the past but I have to be in the right mind set for them.
Stage one of the move is complete. We’re out of our house and now we’re trying to get it ready to put on the market. Come see what I’m reading.
