I’m taking part in the Blogging From A-Z Challenge April 2017 with the theme of books. I’ll be blogging about books on my Goodreads shelf that I’ve read or want to read.
Today’s letter is L and the book I’ve chosen is Long Way Home by Eva Dolan, the first in her brilliant Zigic & Ferreira Detective series set in Cambridgeshire in the UK.
“A man is burnt alive in a suburban garden shed.
DI Zigic and DS Ferreira are called in from the Peterborough Hate Crimes Unit to investigate the murder. Their victim is quickly identified as a migrant worker and a man several people might have had good reason to see dead. A convicted arsonist and member of a far-right movement has just been released from prison, while witnesses claim to have seen the dead man fighting with one of the town’s most prominent slum landlords.
Zigic and Ferreira know all too well the problems that come with dealing with a community that has more reason than most not to trust the police, but when another migrant worker is attacked, tensions rapidly begin to rise as they search for their killer.”
Ooh, I like this idea. I might have to do it next year 🙂 I choose Lizzie’s Christmas Escape, by Christie Barlow, as that was one of my top ten books read in 2016 🙂

This is a great idea for a challenge. I’m a huge fan of Eva Dolan so would have chosen this too.

I love this choice although I’m still to read Eva Dolan’s books, the series was a subject on my Put A Book On The Map feature and so it got pushed up my ‘must-read’ pile.

Choosing a favorite classic for now: Little Women. But I am sure others will come to mind soon 🙂

Lovely choice although I’ve never actually read it. I’m not so good with classics.

This title has been sitting on my TBR for ages. I’m anxious to read it. Sadly, review commitments usually win out.
