Standalone Sunday

Standalone Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by  Megan@bookslayerreads. Standalone Sunday was created to let others know about all the standalone books you have loved, but maybe don’t get the attention they need. Megan created the banner as well and anyone joining in can use it too. Why not check out her blog too🙂

It’s Mothering Sunday/Mother’s Day here in the UK so I thought I go for a mother themed book for this week’s choice. I’ve chosen a thriller Just What Kind of Mother Are You? by Paula Daly

Your friend’s child is missing. It’s your fault.

No family is perfect.

A husband, three children and a full-time job, so many plates to keep spinning.

No wonder you forgot you were supposed to be looking after your friend’s daughter.

But no one has seen her since yesterday.

And she’s not the first to go missing from your small town.

So who’s hiding something?

I picked this up from a recommended read display at the library  a couple of years ago even though I wasn’t too sure about the title. It me hooked right from the start and kept me reading wanting to know what happened. All the characters came across as very real especially Lisa and Joanne. If you like lots of twists and turns and a really fast read, then this is for you.

  1. How do you forget something like that!? I was just talking about how I do not fair well with titles centered around children at times. I have to be in the right mindset or they wreck me completely. So much tension! But this sounds intriguing.

  2. Wow, this sounds like something I’d really enjoy reading. Thanks for the recommendation. And also, I had no idea that Mother’s Day was in March in the UK! That’s interesting to know 😊
