This week’s First Line Friday is from My Husband’s Son by Deborah O’Connor, a book I received in this morning’s post from Reader’s First, a new to me reviewing site I discovered this week.
“He appears from behind the door like a gift. He is alone, his stare daydream-soft.”
You’d always recognise your own son. Wouldn’t you?
Heidi and Jason aren’t like other couples.
Six years ago, Heidi’s daughter was murdered. A year later, Jason’s son Barney disappeared. Their shared loss brought them together.
By chance, Heidi meets a boy she’s certain is Barney.
But Jason is equally convinced it’s not him.
Is Heidi mad? Or is Jason hiding something? And can their fragile marriage survive Heidi’s new found quest for the truth . . .
I’d sure like to read more if I read the blurb and first line! I discovered this site too but unfortunately they don’t send books to Belgium :-(.
It sounds good but has mixed reviews on Goodreads so hoping I’ll enjoy it. What a shame they don’t deliver to Belgium!! 😦
How about I send it to you when I’ve finished it?
