Ai28818244med at the American market, The British Table : A New look at the Traditional Cooking of England, Scotland and Wales by Colman Andrews,  is an extensive collection of traditional recipes,  gathered together with wonderful historical notes. Having a sweet tooth I particularly enjoyed reading through the recipes for the puddings and desserts.
Although I wouldn’t buy this myself, (I definitely prefer less traditional food), I think this would be an excellent book to have in your kitchen if you want to become the perfect Anglophile cook.
