Mysteries & Thrillers

Dark Water

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Bookoture for the free copy of this book.
Dark Water is the third book in the DCI Erika Foster series of police procedurals. It’s set in the UK and centres on the discovery of a child’s body linked to a unsolved historical case. Will Erika and her team manage to solve the case or will it end up in the mess like the previous investigation?

This was a fast paced sorry with likeable and despicable characters. The plot was good with a good mystery element, which kept me trying to work out who the murderer was. I liked Erika and her team and wasn’t put off by the fact that this was my first introduction, having missed out on the previous two novels.

I almost gave up because one of the characters always seemed to be sexually aroused every time he went near a woman. This didn’t seem real to me and didn’t add to the storyline.

The ending was good but not the killer twist I thought it might be.
